About Me

I have been teaching elementary music since 2005 and I love it!  I have learned so much since I began, both from experience and from other teachers--that's why I wanted to start this blog!
I received my Master of Music Education degree from VanderCook College of Music in Chicago.  (I highly recommend their program if you are looking for something practical to make you a better teacher!)  I also have training in Orff, Kodaly, ETM (Education Through Music), and Music Learning Theory.  I believe that the best way to reach students is to make learning fun and to teach using activities and methods you believe in!
I live near Grand Rapids, Michigan with my husband Noah, my three lovely daughters, and stinky dog :)  I love Jesus, corny puns, writing silly parodies for my students, and a good murder mystery.
Thank you for visiting my blog.  I hope you find purposeful, practical, and playful music resources to help keep your students engaged and learning!
